Spring Cleaning Donation Drive with Helping Hands Hawai‘i and ‘Ilima at Leihano
Non-profit Helping Hands Hawai‘i and senior living community ‘Ilima at Leihano are springing into action for a special donation drive event that will make spring cleaning even more meaningful! From 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on April 6 and April 7, bring gently used household items to ‘Ilima at Leihano in Kapolei to help support the work of Helping Hands Hawai‘i. The first few lucky donors to the drive will also be treated to prizes. In addition to the donations contributed by the public, ‘Ilima at Leihano’s kupuna residents will also be getting into the spring-cleaning spirit and actively helping to contribute items to the collection drive. All donations collected will benefit Helping Hands Hawai‘i's Community Clearinghouse, which provides free household necessities to families with limited financial resources. Among the most requested items include small appliances, like microwaves and rice cookers, bath towels, sheets, and fans. Accessories such as shoes, handbags and backpacks, as well as new hygiene items like shampoos and body wash are also in need. Donors are invited to pull up to the front entrance of ‘Ilima at Leihano located at 739 Leihano Street to access donation tables and receive assistance from ‘Ilima associates.
WHEN/WHERE: ‘Ilima at Leihano located at 739 Leihano Street, Kapolei. Donation drop offs are on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
