Well folks, you’re in luck!

Portuguese Bean Soup and Smoke Meat Contest, a Western Week 2024 event, will be held Tuesday, May 20th from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at The Ahualoa Family Farms Macnut Factory, the oldest macadamia nut factory in the state of Hawai’i. Located at 45-359 Lehua St, below The Honoka’a Post Office, down Haina.

This free event invites folks to put their recipes to the test in a friendly competition that has been taking place in Historic Honoka’a Town since 1983.

Guests will get the opportunity to sample traditional family recipes and new spin-offs of these delicious dishes, then place their votes. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be determined from TWO categories; Portuguese Bean Soup OR Smoke Meat. Everyone who competes will leave with something special to show our appreciation. The top 3 winners of each category will be taking home the big prizes! Custom, locally made gifts, and gift certificates from local businesses.

Live music and local food trucks will keep guests busy as the judges tally votes, so be sure to come down and sample all the great times in store!
