Kevin Coleman and The Flat Five with Rea Fox

Kevin Coleman and The Flat Five with Rea Fox

Kevin Coleman and The Flat Five perform legendary West Coast, Chicago, and Texas blues in this special concert for Medici's Reopening Month. Kevin and The Flat Five have been playing together for nine years in Honolulu, but their combined experience is well over 150 years! Their big influences include Little Walter, James Harman, James Cotton, Willie Dixon, William Clarke, Gary Primich, Los Lobos, Kim Wilson & the Fabulous T-Birds, Anson Funderberg, Sam Myers, Mike Bloomfield, Alex Shultz, Savoy Brown, and more. The Flat Five are: Kevin Coleman: Best known as the "Born in Chicago Guy," even though he is from Hawaii. Chip "Downtown Del" Hunt: has backed Kevin Coleman since 2010 on guitar, slide guitar, and bass. Performed with The Bones, The Prospectors, surf band Tiki Taboo, and The BlueStones. Master percussionist, and Honolulu's premier jazz drummer, Darryl Pellegrini, is happy to join the Flat Five for this show only. Darryl needs little introduction, and NOT to the surprise of many...Darryl also plays a mean shuffle, rumba, and a smokin hot West Coast swing style groove. The Flat Five are jumpin' for joy. Hawaii's own Pat Rawson will be The Flat Five's featured keyboardist for the evening. Pat's love for jazz, blues, and funk, are legendary. And a badass surfboard builder! Ian "Lefty" Chames: Bassist for The Flat Five, and arguably the best blues bassist, in Hawaii. Ian is also a member of The Trailer Park Romeos, the rock band Wet, and leader of his own rock blues band, The Chames Gang. The dinner-show price of $59.00 includes the fabulous show plus a delicious 4-course gourmet dinner. Medici's has a full bar with draft beer and extensive whiskey and wine collection (over 70 bottles to choose from!) all reasonably priced – and fabulous caring staff to cater to your every whim (really!) Medici's has taken many precautions to protect its patrons against illness, including UVC air purifiers, 8-foot tall industrial screens between tables and the stage, mandatory mask-wearing for all, and temperature checks at the door and frequent sanitizing of surfaces. Medici’s is a safe, family – friendly, beautiful venue tucked away in Manoa Marketplace. There is plenty of free parking and security.
