Join Hawai'i Vocal Arts Ensemble in celebrating an American journey through song. The first half features classical voices from the spirited William Billings to the expansive choral writing of Randall Thompson and the warmth and clarity of Aaron Copland and William Dawson. After intermission, the program opens into the melodies and lyrics of the Great American Songbook. From the wit and elegance of Cole Porter and Irving Berlin to the unmistakable swing of Duke Ellington and the charm of George Gershwin, the program will finish with the unmistakable voice of Leonard Bernstein.
