Thirteen years ago HIVM Inc. started a Sunday afternoon Jazz gathering at a small restaurant in Hilo to create awareness of their missions and to raise funds for basic operating costs. That event has since grown into one of the most popular Jazz and Blues Festivals in Hawaii. This gala event features a lavish Pupu buffet, a no-host bar and three stages of non-stop music featuring some of Hawaii’s finest jazz and blues musicians along with highly acclaimed artists from the mainland.
Our 10th Annual East Hawaii Jazz and Blues Festival is a fundraising event for Hawaii Island Veterans Memorial Inc. (HIVM Inc.) We are an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization. Our completed independent living community of 92 affordable housing units with preference to senior veterans, their spouses and spouses of deceased veterans is ready for occupancy. We are now focused on the requirements necessary to implement the creation of a medical center on our lower lot bordering the living community.
