Lava Advances Slowly and Puna Prepares

The June 27th flow remains active and heading northeast, moving through Kaohe Homesteads. For several weeks the flow has been moving through thick forest, and today the flow front reached the forest boundary and more open ground.

The lava flow from Kilauea Volcano's Pu'u 'O'o Vent is continuing its slow movement towards Pahoa and beyond.  HPR's Sherry Bracken talked with the Mayor yesterday to get the latest update.
