Gender Matters, Boys Adrift, Girl’s on the Edge: Dr. Leonard Sax
Dr. Leonard Sax is the author of Girls on the Edge and Boys Adrift. He provided both primary and urgent care services to children and adults in suburban Maryland for more than 19 years. His sabbatical will end soon; he’ll return to his full-time clinical practice in January. Tonight he’ll talk about girls and tomorrow night about boys- both lectures are at Tenney Theatre.

Joe Ruszkowski is the director of the Hawaii Pacific University Band, which will combine with HPU’s international vocal ensemble and chorale and its symphony orchestra for a free winter concert this Friday called “In Dulci Jubilo,” or Joy to the World.

Dr. Abraham Verghese is a bestselling author and prominent voice in medicine with a uniquely humanistic view of the future of healthcare. He’s the senior associate chair for the Theory and Practice of Medicine at Stanford University medical school, and his most recent novel, Cutting for Stone, spent over two years on the New York Times Bestseller list. He's in town to keynote at tomorrow’s Hawaii Healthcare Summit,where he'll deliver the keynote speech entitled "Marrying Technology with the Human Touch."
