Hawaii has long sought to diversify its economy and build up its tech industry. One area gaining ground at local colleges is the competitive video gaming known as esports.

Electronic sports, or esports, is a form of competition using video games. And it's a growing industry. The University of Hawaiʻi is in the process developing a curriculum focusing on esports, and the many facets of the industry.
