The spike in cases has renewed concern across the state. Lt. Governor Green sits down with us to discuss contact tracing, tightening of restrictions on pulic gatherings and feedback he's hearing from Neighbor Island mayors.
Contact tracing training program underway
We take a close look at the University of Hawai?i-Hawai?i State Department of Health (UH-DOH) Contact Tracing Training Program which will have trained nearly 450 qualified individuals who will be available to be activated by the DOH, as needed. As the numbers rise, will we need to hire additional staff to make the calls to alert those who may have been exposed to the virus?

Docuseries: A Climate for Change
For the 50th anniversary of Earth Day earlier this year we spotlighted the first part of the docuseries “A Climate for Change,” The New Normal. It was produced by Green Island Films. Episode 2 entitled A Second Life! rolls out tonight on KGMB at 7 pm. The film covers efforts to reduce trash, protect seabirds and save coral reefs.Filmmaker Anthony Aalto dedicated the film to the coral research of the late Ruth Gates who was the director of the Institute of Marine Biology at Coconut Island.
