This week on Helping Hand, HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence speaks with returning guest Helping Hands Hawaii. The area nonprofit has teamed up with Pearl Hawaii Federal Credit Union for a baby supply drive until March 17, 2018 to assist low-income and homeless families with infants and children. And there is a lot of need: the Aloha State has the worst homeless crisis per capita in the country. We learn more with our guest Jan Harada, President and Chief Executive Officer, of Helping Hands Hawai‘i.
Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR1 stations statewide. Each Friday afternoon, Helping Hand puts the spotlight on an organization, topic or event that offers assistance to the disabled and others among the most vulnerable. The segments are then archived here.
