Helping Hand - Easter Seals Hawai'i
Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR1 stations each Friday afternoon and online here. Each Friday afternoon, Helping Hand puts the spotlight on an organization, topic or event that offers assistance to the disabled and other folks who are among the most vulnerable in the community with HPR All Things Considered Local Host Dave Lawrence. This week we’re learning about Easter Seals Hawai'i, and the services they provide to the disabled and people with special needs across the Aloha State. We are pleased to welcome Easter Seals Hawai'i President and CEO Ron Brandvold.
According to their website, Easter Seals Hawai'i provides individualized, family-centered services to empower people with disabilities or special needs to achieve their goals and live independent, fulfilling lives. Easter Seals Hawai'i has been serving special needs children, youth and adults for over 60 years. They provide more than 500,000 hours of direct service annually to individuals and families across the state. All funds raised by Easter Seals Hawai'i remain in Hawai'i and help them carry on their tradition of creating solutions and changing lives.
