DLNR invites foragers to use new online permit system

The state Department of Land and Natural Resources has made a new online system to obtain foraging permits.

Plants such as bamboo and strawberry guava can be harvested at any state forest reserve – but a permit is required.

The new platform allows users to follow an interactive map to designate the forest they wish to harvest. The map will show harvestable plants in the selected location.

The reviewing and approving process has also been digitized. Permits for personal harvesting are free, and commercial harvesting permits require a fee.

People wishing to apply in person may continue to do so at any DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife office.
