Local psychologist and mosaic artist shares the importance of art in processing trauma

Families and friends will be gathering at The ARTS at Marks Garage Friday and beyond to celebrate “With heART for Our First Responders,” an exhibition of work by doctors, nurses, police and other members of Hawaiʻi's care community.

One of the featured artists is Dr. Allana Coffee, a clinical psychologist and mosaic artist. She spoke with The Conversation about the healing power of art and the importance of staying connected to your community.

“With HeART for Our First Responders” is on display through Feb. 12. This interview aired on The Conversation on Feb. 4, 2022. The Conversation airs weekdays at 11 a.m. on HPR-1.
