"No More Plastic in the Ocean!" by Lavinia Currier

If you are looking for a gift book to share this holiday season, here's one written by an author from Molokaʻi. Lavinia Currier lives on the Friendly Isle and decided she had to do something after watching the plastic debris build up over the years on the beaches of her island home. "No More Plastic in the Ocean!" is a charming little story about an octopus who got fed up living with rubbish. Currier explained how the children's book came to be.

This interview aired on The Conversation on Dec. 20, 2021. The Conversation airs weekdays at 11 a.m. on HPR-1.
