A report from Hawaii's state auditor’s office says Department of Health officials stonewalled them while attempting to get answers about the government's coronavirus contact tracing program.

Hawaii is receiving $50 million in federal funding to ramp up contact tracing, Hawaii Sen. Brian Schatz announced today. Schatz, alluding to local bickering over the need for more contact tracing staff, urged state leaders to move quickly.

Hawaii's coronavirus case count now stands at 106, according to the state health department's latest update. The number represents an increase of 11 cases from yesterday. Oahu has 77 cases, Maui 14, Kauai 5 and the Big Island 5.
