This week we’re learning about United Cerebral Palsy Association (UCPA) of Hawai'i with our guest Donna Foust, Executive Director.

The United Cerebral Palsy Association (UCPA) of Hawai’i, according to their website, is a nonprofit, volunteer health organization committed to positively affecting the quality of life for children and adults with cerebral palsy or other severe disabilities.  UCPA of Hawai'i is part of a nationwide network of approximately 93 state and local affiliates and has been providing services in the islands since 1959. UCPA of Hawai'i is also one of four independent non-profit organizations involved in an innovative collaboration called DiverseAbilities, which we’ll hear about, which includes some organizations familiar to Helping Hand listeners, like the Assistive Technology Resource Centers of Hawai'i and Hawai'i Centers for Independent Living, among others.
