Struggles of houseless students

One of the most vulnerable populations in Hawaii are the unsheltered, and that includes Hawaii's more than 3,000 school students in unstable housing. According to the state of Hawaii Department of Education, the number of those students has stayed about the same over the past 10 years. DOE teachers tells us about what life is like for these houseless students.

Lost sounds of Hawaii's native birds

David Kuhn of Kauai recorded native bird sounds back in the 1990s. It's tough for him to talk about because the forests don't sound the same. He tells us more. Find David Kuhn's recordings of natural sounds at SoundsHawaiian.com.
