The city’s top attorney, Donna Leong has gone to court challenging the wording of a ballot question that is supposed to go before voters this fall.

It has to do with funding public schools using a tax that historically has sat with the counties. Leong filed the complaint last week and is amending it to include home rule arguments and to include all the counties in the challenge.

Imagine a lei of parks. A number of groups are pooling efforts to kick off a pop up event that will showcase the promenade from Kakaako to Ala  Moana.

Thanks to a grant from AARP and help from the Biki Bike sharing program, the Trust for Public lands hopes to parlay the weekend event into an opportunity to tap into federal funds to improve and protect the green space of our urban parks.
