Think retirement and you probably picture the stage of life for someone well over age 70. But in the military, retirement can come much earlier than that. In fact, 44 is the average age of a military retiree, and that can bring a different set of criteria for choosing the best place to live. Consumer and small business financial site WalletHub recently evaluated the best states for military retirees. We called spokesperson Jill Gonzalez and talked about why the age of military retirement is such a significant factor.

It's one of those places you might pass by even if you're among the culturally inclined. The Neal Blaisdell Center has been around a long time and most people know it as the place to hear the Symphony, enjoy opera, see the ballet or shows visiting Honolulu. What they don't know is the original intent of the Center's dedication. But Tanya Harrison isn't most people. In the course of other research, she found out the NBC had originally been dedicated as a war memorial. Tanya Harrison came into our studio and we talked about what made her want to bring the rest of us back to that point.
