UHERO Economic Update: Carl Bonham
The last time we checked in with University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization, Hawaii’s economic outlook was a fairly even picture - no great highs or lows; construction getting a stimulus with the number of permits pulled; tourism chugging along and starting to top out. The forecast was for slow and steady progress forward with minimal growth. Nice, but at the same time, not exactly optimal...The latest Hawaii forecast is now out and UHERO director Carl Bonham came into the studio in advance of the rain to talk about the difference between where we were and where we are now.

Ebb & Flow Arts, 15th Season: Bill Anderson
The Maui-based Ebb and Flows Arts Festival is a welcome addition to Hawaii’s musical landscape, with its emphasis on new and challenging compositions and equally adventuresome performers. This year’s Ebb and Flow Concert series will conclude this Sunday with a performance by Vox n Plux, a trio that combines a soprano vocalist with a variety of plucked-string instruments. William Anderson plays guitar, mandolin, and other plucked-string instruments with the group, and we caught up with him by phone.
