It's not a new virus, but it's made Maui a hot spot and cat owners are concerned. As we went into the weekend, the Maui Humane Society said the outbreak of the feline panleukopenia virus was in a highly populated area and  had already killed eight cats. Most difficult to hear was that the virus couldn't be contained. Jamie Fitzpatrick of the Maui Humane Society joined the show to tell us more about the virus and what can be done to protect your cats.

At 23, Danny Carvalho already has a wealth of experience behind him, and he’s debuting his latest re-invention this Saturday in our Atherton Studio.

Here's one you probably understand intimately: the link between work and identity. But if you or someone you love lives with mental illness, that link may be broken - especially in Hawai‘i. A report out this month from the National Alliance on Mental Illness shows our state with the third worst national ranking for unemployed people in the public mental health care system. The best in the nation is  Wyoming. NAMI’s Executive Director, Mary Giliberti, joined the show by phone from her office in Washington to discuss the report and its findings.

The members of the Kaua’i Island Singers’ Showcase, better known around the Garden Isle by its acronym KISS, celebrate their love of music in a series of free concerts that range widely over the singer’s repertoire, giving them an opportunity to delve into different styles, and different decades.  Their latest concert, coming up weekend after next, is called “Island Rhythms and Songs of the New Millennium,” and Melissa Mojo, singer and event coordinator, joined the show via phone.
