AnnelleAmaral is a former member of the House of Representatives for Makakilo, Kapolei, Ewa, was the Vice Chair of Judiciary Committee and the Majority Floor Leader.  She’s also part of the first women who entered Honolulu Police Dept. on an equal basis, and received National recognition as Officer of the Year for her work in rape prevention.  Now AnnelleAmaral is the First Vice President of the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs, a national, Hawaiian membership advocacy organization.

Living the Art of Hula

Michael Pili Pang, Robert Cazimero, and Vicky Holt Takamine will offer performances by their halau, along with a three-way discussion called “Living the Art of Hula” next Thursday at UH’s Kennedy Theater. It’s part of the Asia Pacific Dance Festival, which runs until July 26th

Kat Brady is Coordinator of Community Alliance on Prisons and Chair of the Honolulu County Committee on the Status of Women. She’s also a member of the Disproportionate Minority Contact Committee of the Juvenile Detention Alternative to Incarceration project  and is the only Prisoner Advocate in Hawai`i on the UH Institutional Review Board.  The bill to give judges a little leeway in sentencing offenders in certain drug cases is still on the Governors veto list.
