For the past 6 weeks, students from a new program have been taking the classroom experience outside. The focus of the summer program is to try to make science and math more tangible, by getting hands-on experience with real-life experts in the field.

It’s called the Malama Aina Field School-and it’s a collaboration with the M?lama Learning Center, UH Manoa's Hawai'inui?kea School of Hawaiian Knowledge , Kamehameha SchoolsMA‘O Farms, and University of Hawaii's PALS (Program for Afterschool Literacy Support) and PLACES (Place-based Learning and Community Engagement in School)

HPR’s Molly Solomon caught up with the class and has this report.
