Month-long celebrations are underway commemorating the life and works of Prince Jonah K?hi?Kalaniana’ole. Born in 1871 on Kaua’i, K?hi? lived through the overthrow, counter-revolution, and annexation, and served for two decades as the territory of Hawai’i’s delegate to Congress. HPR’sNoeTanigawa reports.
The Prince K?hi? Commemorative Parade runs through Waikiki along Kal?kaua from Saratoga Road to Kapi‘olani Park on Saturday, March 22, 10:00 a.m. to Noon. Further commemorations continue this month, including a lei draping March 26th at his statue near the beach that bears his name in Waikiki.
