Applications are being accepted for a Maui-based conservation leadership program this summer.

The N? Hua Ho?ohuli i ka Pono program aims to develop Maui's next gneration of conservation leaders.

The program allows participants to tackle real world issues in a balanced manner - while also giving them the opportunity to work with a conservation organization in Maui. Some of the participating organizations include: the Maui Invasive Species Committee, Nature Conservancy, and Maui Nui Botanical Gardens.

Serena Kaldi is the Program Coordinator.

Kaldi says participants will earn a bi-weekly living allowance and could earn an Ameri-Corps Education Award.

More information can be found online at http://www.nhhphawaii.org

The application deadline is 8 AM on February 18th
