HPR's Generation Listen Awarded $1,000 Grant From Matson

HPR's Generation Listen, the initiative aimed at engaging younger listeners with the station, has been accepted into Matson Inc.'s Ka Ipu 'Aina program. Ka Ipu 'Aina translates into "container for the land" and is an environmental community partnership that aims to improve Hawai?i's inland and coastal areas. As part of the partnership, Gen Listen will organize and implement a cleanup project this summer; Matson will donate all container equipment and underwrite trucking expenses. At the completion of the project, Matson will make a $1,000 cash donation to Gen Listen, which will support their membership and outreach efforts. The date and location of the cleanup event will be announced at a later date.
