Guitarist Jonny Lang is back in Honolulu for shows through Sunday at the Blue Note. He took time to explore his early start to music and some of the remarkable experiences he's had with HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence.
Jonny Lang explained how his parents played a critical role in exposing him to music, and even the guitarist who would give him his first lessons. He shared the story of A & M Records attending an early show and signing him, as well as providing insight into the time he played Aloha Stadium opening for The Rolling Stones on his 17th birthday. Jonny also told stories of playing with Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Ron Wood, Buddy Guy and B.B. King.
