Helping Hand - October 17 2014 full interview with Parkinson Foundation

Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR1 stations and online here each Friday afternoon. Helping Hand speaks with an organization or event in the community that offers assistance to the disabled and other folks in need. This week, All Things Considered local host Dave Lawrence connects with the Hawai'i Chapter of the National Parkinson Foundation, and also hears about their October 25th Moving Day event with our guests Kevin Lockette, Volunteer Board Member and Melanie Moore, Coordinator of Moving Day Hawai'i.

According to their website, the (NPF) is a non-profit volunteer group comprised of people with Parkinson's disease, caregivers, family members, health care professionals, educators and leaders in the business community. Their organization includes a Grants-in-Aid Program which provides financial aid to assist members with health-related care, they produce educational programs for healthcare workers and help with programs for people with PD, among things they do.
