Helping Hand - April 18, 2014 full interview with Aloha Independent Living Hawaii

Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR1 stations airing statewide Fridays at 5:30 and archived here online. Each week, All Things Considered local host Dave Lawrence puts the spotlight on an organization or event in the community that offers assistance to the disabled and other folks in need. This week we’re learning about Aloha Independent Living Hawai`i

Their website states the organization is a recently established grass roots 501 (c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to provide independent living programs and services for people with disabilities in Hawai`i. They are the only provider for Independent Living Services and Programs in the State of Hawai`i. They are currently state funded, as well, according to their site. I am grateful to welcome my guests Roxanne Bolden, Executive Director, and Brian Hauser, Board Vice Chair, of Aloha Independent Living Hawai`i.
