Hawaiian Self-Determination: A Spectrum of Options and Opinions

The federal Department of Interior continues public meetings this week, gathering testimony on whether they should propose establishing a government to government relationship with Native Hawaiians.  HPR’sNoeTanigawa found conversations on that topic are rippling through the community.

Tomorrow, HPR will look at one view of the “independent nation” option favored by some Hawaiians.  Department of the Interior Meetings continue tonight on Kaua’i, then on Hawai’i Island and Maui.
