The story of the 442nd regimental combat team is a familiar one to most in Hawai‘i. During World War Two, the 442nd was made up of Japanese-American soldiers, and along with the 100th Infantry Battalion, the unit was very highly decorated. An exhibit called “Go For Broke” has been touring the islands and its final stop was Kaua‘i. That’s where HPR contributing reporter Joe Day sat down for a conversation with one of the veterans of the 442nd.
