First Identifications Made in Remains Returned from North Korea

A ceremony marking the occasion National POW/MIA Recognition Day took place today at the National Memorial Cemetary of the Pacific at Punchbowl.

For families of two men--Army Master Sergeant Charles McDaniel and Army Private First Class William Jones it’s a big day.

The remains of the men  American servicemen were returned to US soil by North Korea in August. Sergeant McDaniel’s son Charles is in Hawaii to mark the occasion.

HPR’s Ryan Finnerty spoke with the POW/MIA Accounting Agency’s Johhny Webb to learn how the two fallen Americans were identified.
