Most people like a bargain and while Hawaii’s energy costs hardly fit into that category, shaping your cost curve could be up to you. It’s the purpose of various programs including one Blue Planet Foundation and its partner Bidgley are beginning for the first 750 Oahu customers who want to participate. But do programs like these change energy use habits over the long term and not just when someone is checking her app as part of the project. Caleb Brown is the Outreach Coordinator for the Blue Planet Foundation.

Watercolor is a beautiful medium, but it can be hard for the novice watercolorist to control. At its best, it’s a wonderful way to explore the way colors blend together, but those colors can too easily run away with you, and that’s where the instruction that an experienced artists like Barbara Steinberg provides can make all the difference. She’s preparing an introductory class on her specialty, and she’s with us this morning.

Altigator Civil Drone

For the past five years, makers of unmanned aircraft systems plus tech and some retail companies have been waiting for rules from the Federal Aviation Administration regulating the commercial use of drones. The rules were released in June and although you won’t get your packages delivered by a drone just yet, having the rules in place could mean it could actually happen in the future. Meanwhile, companies using a UAS for commercial purposes are learning what they have to do to be open for business. Aaron Begle (Bag-lee), the Director of Operations for the Hawaii Drone Academy.

The story of King Arthur has everything a good story needs: a noble king, his beautiful, intermittently faithful wife, a best friend with dubious motives, and of course, a quest… In its original form, it takes itself a bit seriously, making Great Britain’s favorite legends into grist for the mill that is Monty Python… Spamalot, the musical from the Monty Python and the Holy Grail movie, makes it impossible for you to ever look at King Arthur, Guinevere and the gang quite the same way ever again. Alexis Dascoulias is the Executive Director of Maui OnStage.
