State labor department on unemployment strategy

As companies shut down and reduce hours because of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the state expects unemployment claims to surge. Scott Murakami, director of the state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, tells us about the state's strategy and how it's giving options to safely file claims.

Seeking memorabilia for veterans home

David Pettijohn is the administrator of the state's only veterans home, the Yukio Okutsu Veterans Center and Home in Hilo. They have put out a call for memorabilia to help pay homage to its residents. Anyone who would like to donate can call the center at (808) 961-1500, or click here to visit their website.

Local skateboarder shreds into the Olympics

Skateboarding is a new sport being added to the Summer Olympic games. Heimana Reynalds, who was born and raised on Oahu, is currently number one in the rankings for what's called the park event. We spoke with him and his dad Matt, as well as some skate fans.
