Welcome to Classical Pacific for Tuesday, August 29th, 2017, on HPR 2. I am sending heartfelt prayers to all those affected by the devastation in Texas and Louisiana. After three days of attempts, I was finally able to reach my cousins in Houston, who arrived home from a vacation to find their home on the verge of flooding. At last contact they were able to mitigate the situation, but the rains keep coming. Please k?kua those in the path of Tropical Storm Harvey if you can. Today we recognize NAXOS, one of the premier record labels in the field of classical music. It’s their 30th Anniversary this year, and they have released a 30 volume set of their best recordings. I am pleased to share some them with you today, and will continue to do so in coming weeks. Our broadcast begins at 3 PM Hawaii time on HPR 2.

As I mentioned some time ago, I am still looking for high-quality choral music from across Polynesia, particularly, S?moa and Tonga, and Maori music, as well.
