Picking up where we left off on Monday night. I wanted to do a follow up show featuring the music of the Eighteenth Street Lounge and it's record label ESL Music. So this session of Bridging the Gap will feature songs taken from many of their compilations and remixes, so expect an eclectic mix of dub, bossa and lounge, as well as a tribute to Johnny Nash who passed away at 80.
The Eighteenth Street Lounge in DC closed indefinitely in June, another casuality to the COVID shutdowns. This was one of my favorite bars in DC, and it's style and selection was one that I shaped a lot of DJ sets around. It was always on my gig bucketlist, but sadly never came to be.
