Al Di Meola - Part Two - Off The Road with Dave Lawrence

Today we have part two with legendary guitarist and songwriter Al Di Meola, the latest artist in our series of interviews with musicians joining HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence remotely from around the world, sharing how they’ve been touched by the pandemic and other crises, including Jack JohnsonCarlos Santana and Cindy Blackman SantanaSoul Asylum’s Dave Pirner and Alice Cooper.

Al Di Meola has been both personally and professionally affected by the coronavirus. Known for his work with Chick CoreaJohn McLaughlin and others, Al offers some riveting storytelling about how his latest Beatles-based album,Across the Universe, and tours for it, were heavily impacted by the coronavirus, and today he even plays some Beatles solo for us on the guitar as part of the conclusion to our special feature. Al joined us remotely from New Jersey, one of the early epicenters of the virus.
