Pioneering Gene Scientist Returns Home to Hilo

Biochemist Jennifer Doudna has rocked the science world with her research unlocking the mystery of gene editing. A Hilo High school graduate, she now has her own laboratory at UC Berkeley. In 2014 she won a $3 million dollar prize for breakthrough science for discovering how to edit genes.
