Anton Krucky appointed to serve as director of Honolulu Department of Community Services

Anton Krucky has been appointed by the Honolulu City Council to serve as the director of the city's Department of Community Services.

Krucky is currently the director for the Office of Housing and Homelessness, and the two offices will be merged.

He is the third person to serve as the head of DCS in the Blangiardi administration after both of his predecessors resigned.

Krucky says he prioritizes increased communication with the City Council, explaining, "Right now in the Department of Community Services there isn’t a person that does public information. We want to put that person in as one of my top priorities to do."

He says he will assign the person in charge of communication to not only release department information to the public, but to the councilmembers' offices as well.

Councilmembers voted unanimously in favor of Krucky. Councilmembers Andria Tupola and Radiant Cordero voted with reservations.
