University of Hawaiʻi Students Must Be Vaccinated for In-Person Spring Classes

University of Hawaiʻi

Students taking classes at any University of Hawaiʻi campus will need to be vaccinated before registering for spring classes.

Up to now, students have had an option of providing a negative COVID-19 test every week, but that will not be an option starting Jan. 3, 2022. Exemptions will be allowed for medical or religious reasons.

Students who do not submit their vaccine information or receive an exemption will only be able to register for online classes, the university said.

Students with exemptions will still need to provide a negative test each week to be on campus.

Early last month, UH officials said a survey of students across its 10 campuses found nearly 90% were partially or fully vaccinated.

Registration for spring classes begins in early November. Click here to read the full policy.
