Helping Hand - November 2, 2018 complete interview with Habitat for Humanity Hawaii Island

This week on Helping Hand, we get a return visit from Habitat For Humanity on Hawai‘i Island. HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence speaks with Executive Director Patrick Hurney about their unique housing programs, mission to help people with disabilities achieve critical ADA home modifications, and fundraising Hotel Furniture Liquidation Sale going on now through November 10th or until the furniture is gone.

They were the recipient of a huge furniture donation and are holding a special sale to benefit their programs at the old Sports Authority space at the Kona Commons in Kailua Kona every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with additional items available at their three ReStores.

Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR. Each Friday afternoon, Helping Hand puts the spotlight on a topic, organization or event that offers assistance to people with disabilities and others among the most vulnerable.
