HPR MEMBERSHIP COORDINATOR
Full-time, non-exempt with comprehensive benefits keeping Monday through Friday hours with periodic weekend and evening work as assigned or necessary.

Hawai‘i Public Radio’s membership department is charged with strengthening ties between the station and its supporters, listeners, and the wider community. Through the organization of on-air, digital, and direct mail campaigns, the membership team works to secure the funding necessary to support this fiercely independent enterprise.
The Membership Coordinator is an integral membership team member whose focus is on donor support, data entry, fundraising, financial transactions, and station event support. This individual has excellent interpersonal communication skills, a positive attitude, and strong attention to detail.
Member and listener support activities – Respond to questions and provide info to station donors and the general public via phone, email and direct mail regarding membership giving or benefits, and station activities and events. Donor outreach including thank you letters, calls and invitations.
Revenue activities – Coordinate and prepare scheduled donor communications (fundraising and cultivation) via email and direct mail; update copy/text; support donor retention activities with calls, emails and direct mail to update donor giving info.
Financial transactions – Process donor contributions and updates to monthly gift plans received by phone, mail or on-line to member database following data entry protocols; prepare daily transaction recap and bank deposit.
Membership Campaigns – Work with Membership team members to plan, organize and implement scheduled on-air campaigns. Activities include: pre-campaign gift solicitation; data entry of contributions; assist with thank-you gift set-up and fulfillment; assist with training volunteers and studio set-up; cross training in a variety of campaign-related roles; post-campaign gift follow-up and new member welcome activities.
Station event support – Assist with preparing guest lists and invitations for station events; invitation follow-up and RSVP; assist during events; event set-up and take-down; shopping & light food prep; box office and/or merchandise sales; assist with outreach tables at community events.
Administrative support and other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
1-2 years prior work experience in customer service or donor support.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills over-the-phone and face-to-face.
Strong writing skills plus proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Prior experience with digital marketing tools or database management preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
Valid Drivers’ License and access to a vehicle, able to lift 50 lbs.
Passion for HPR’s mission and work preferred.
Organized, accurate and detail-oriented.
Positive attitude, reliable, a self-starter.
Able to work productively in a lively and interactive work environment.
