Recently a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist released a solo album: Space Invader, by Ace Frehley, former Kiss guitarist and a significant influence on many equally, or even more well-known younger players for his incendiary solos and creative riffs. He took time to speak with HPR's All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence about it. Something that makes the release noteworthy might be that it’s achieved a bit of critical praise for authentic rock grit in its songwriting; another thing, would be the attention given to his technique in making it: setting out to capture a classic sound, using classic equipment, and even using a classic approach. Below are audio clips of the two songs used in our radio feature for HPR's All Things Considered and some classic Kiss from both their late 70''s peak and the climax of their late 90's reunion of the original band, which consisted of Ace Frehley on guitar/vocals, Peter Criss on drums/vocals, Paul Stanley on guitar/vocals and Gene Simmons on bass/vocals.
