Punk Rock and Axes: El Sancho and The Granite Saints (Oahu) at Hilo Axe Lounge

Punk Rock and Axes: El Sancho and The Granite Saints (Oahu) at Hilo Axe Lounge

Two punk bands invade the Hilo Axe Lounge on Saturday May 28th for a night of mayhem and sharp objects!

EL SANCHO is a Big Island-based band that has performed all over the island, and was featured earlier this year on PBS Hawaii's "Live at the Empty Palace" show. Their music has been played on radio stations across the country, including SiriusXM and featured on the Huffington Post website. They play fast, fun punk rock that draws inspiration from the Ramones, Dead Milkmen and Screeching Weasel, to name a few.

THE GRANITE SAINTS are two-time Na Hoku Hanohano finalists for Rock Album of the Year. Their rock/punk/outlaw country sound brings to mind Johnny Cash, Social Distortion and The Clash. The Oahu-based band are on a two-night stop on the Big Island (catch them the night before in Pahoa) and are playing in Hilo for the first time in their decade-long career.

The Hilo Axe Lounge is ALL AGES and doors open at 5pm. Music from 8-11pm. Entry is $5 to watch the bands, or $20 to watch the bands and have unlimited axe throwing, or $30 for the bands, axe throwing and access to the Rage Room. Hilo Axe Lounge also has video games, board games and a "chill room" to just hang out and enjoy yourself. Those over 21 are free to BYOB.
