Michael Richards on the New 'Seinfeld' DVD

Seinfeld is one of the best-loved television comedies of the past 20 years, providing viewers with a steady diet of self-involved drama and self-important sarcasm.

Even as it remains a force in TV schedules around the country due to its popular reruns, the series is making the jump to the 21st century, in the form of DVDs. The new discs offer a quick way to enjoy favorite episodes from the first three seasons, as well as a chance to hear Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards -- along with show co-creator Larry David -- dissect scenes.

Richards, who played frenetic, frizzy-haired Kramer, talks with NPR's Steve Inskeep about the show that made nothing cool.
