The Garden Island on Kauaʻi stirs up concern over AI newscasters

Followers of the legacy Kauaʻi newspaper The Garden Island were recently introduced to two AI broadcasters named “Rose” and “James.” Technology journalist Matthew Gault said this is the first time he has seen this type of AI used by a U.S. newsroom.
