Donald Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has received an enormous amount of coverage recently, but one area of his background has had little exposure: his judicial record as it relates to wildlife.

Today tickets went on-sale to Hawaii residents for the return of The Eagles. They’ll play Aloha Stadium Friday December 7th, the first rock show at the stadium since U2 and Pearl Jam in 2006, and Jack Johnson will be their opening act.

HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence welcomes the Hawaii Lava Flow Animal Rescue Network, which started as a public group on Facebook as an informational hub for those needing assistance with pets and animals during the 2018 volcanic eruption.

Jamaican reggae group Third World is back in the Aloha State, with shows through this evening at the Blue Note. There’s a new report on how illegal wildlife is being trafficked by air, and how smugglers are exploiting commercial air transport to move critically endangered animal parts or live animals, usually from Africa to Asia, and the report slammed one country in Asia with evidence showing them to be-- by far-- the most common destination for all seized wildlife products between 2009 and 2017.

Nonprofit WildAid have been joined in their effort to end shark fin consumption by a leading TV actor in Thailand. Pong Nawat Kulrattanarak has recorded a PSA describing the painful way sharks have their fins cut off and are often thrown back into the ocean to feed an industry based around shark fin soup and other shark consumption.

A study released yesterday by the global wildlife NGO TRAFFIC suggests that most of Viet Nam’s online illegal wildlife trade does not take place on websites ending in .vn, as previously thought, and instead monitoring efforts should focus on .com sites, and social media.
