He’eia Bay runs from Kane’ohe to Kualoa and for 800 years, some of O’ahu’s most productive fishponds were located just off its shoreline.  HPR’s Noe Tanigawa discovered that octopus, too, are known to be plentiful.  Here, you see Hi'i lei and her father, Gabby Kawelo, caretakers of He'eia Fishpond at Paepae O He'eia.  They'll be doing the he'e presentation at Bishop Museum.
