Young Musicians Celebrate Across the State

Across the state, most school students, parents, teachers and staff are into the final week of the academic year.  Graduations are in full swing, and there is a lot of celebratory music going on.

HPR’s Noe Tanigawa offers this sampling from the Kamehameha Jazz Ensemble, the Honoka'a Jazz Band, the 'Iolani Orchestra, the Maui Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Moanalua Symphony Orchestra, and the Moanalua Symphonic Wind Ensemble.

The Hawai'i Youth Symphony is a statewide organization that offers membership by audition to youth from all islands.

Noe Tanigawa covered art, culture and ideas for two decades at Hawaiʻi Public Radio.
