  Jairus Grove’s UH Manoa classes focus on international conflict, insurgency and terrorism  He  received his Ph.D. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University in 2011. His research considers the role of civilian and open source technology in conflict zones, especially the significant role Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) played in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has two forthcoming books Thinking Like a Bomb: Steps to an Ecology of Global War and Dangerous Algorithms: The Globalization of Drones, bots, and Informatics.
